WORLD No.1 Roger Federer has survived a major scare in his third round match against unseeded Serb Janko Tipsarevic at the Australian Open in Melbourne. Federer, who is chasing a third straight Australian Open title, fought back to win 6-7 (5-7) 7-6 (7-1) 5-7 6-1 10-8 in a match that lasted four hours and 27 minutes.
